Happy Monday!
San Francisco’s Mist Opportunity is Wooing Tourists With Chilly Weather and more hot AI news: Ilya Sutskever starting new company Safe Superintelligence Inc and Nvidia was the most valuable company for one day and now valued at “only” $3.11 trillion!
💸 My Thoughts on Stablecoin - I spoke with Sonali Basak and Tim Stenovec on "Bloomberg Crypto." last week. Stablecoin is a "super important topic" to the World and the US needs to "get their act together" and catch up to the rest of the world. Watch on Bloomberg.
💰 AI’s $600B Question - Great article on how different players in the ecosystem are capturing value. Microsoft alone likely represented ~22% of Nvidia’s Q4 revenue. OpenAI’s revenue is now $3.4B and has the lion’s share of AI revenue. Declining prices for GPU computing is actually good for long-term innovation and good for startups, but it will cause harm primarily to investors. Read more on Sequoia’s blog.

👩🏻⚕️ Ray Kurzweil on how AI will transform the physical world - I am very excited about the AI revolution on medicine. AI precise computer modeling that aids the study of the human body and how drugs work—can quickly assess billions of options to find the most promising medicines. Last summer the first drug designed end-to-end by AI entered phase-2 trials for treating idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease. Dozens of other AI-designed drugs are now entering trials. In all of history until 2022, science had determined the shapes of around 190,000 proteins. That year DeepMind’s AlphaFold 2 discovered over 200M, which have been released free of charge to researchers to help develop new treatments. Read more on the Economist
